11 weeks

Your fig-sized fetus now measures 1 1/2 inches from head to bottom and weighs in at a quarter-ounce. He finally looks like a baby, with tiny but fully formed fingers and toes. As his body grows and becomes more developed and functional, he'll start twisting and turning like an acrobat, cushioned and protected by your amniotic fluid. You, on the other hand, are probably feeling less like a gymnast every day. Heartburn (caused by pregnancy hormones that relax the valve separating your esophagus from your stomach) and indigestion may be annoying you during the day and keeping you up at night. Just remember, all this suffering is for a good cause — you're having a baby!

Suffering for a good cause....whatever!!!! Starting Friday night I started getting sick, which has only happened a few times so far, but my God come on!!!! I thought this was supposed to start getting better and be gone soon! So, I was sick Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night and this morning so far. Ugh, I am afraid to eat or drink anything but I know I have to. Just had some eggs and toast, so we will see.

We went to our friend's wedding last night, it was at the Hotel Utica, where we stayed on our wedding night. Everything was so nice!!!! They had kind of a snowflake theme. She wore a gorgeous snowflake pendant, and her dress was white with black embroidery. Her bridesmaids wore black, and the flowergirls wore white dresses with black lace. The program had different shades of blue snowflakes, and the centerpieces were plates with stones and floating snowflake candles. The favors were bags of blue and white rock candy!!!! We had a good time, we got to see a lot of people that we don't normally get to see. But, then I got a headache and we left early.

K is home now, she called this sfternoon at 12:40PM to say that she was in town and could they drop her off at 2PM? They thought first of all that they had to bring her back Saturday, then J told them that they had her until today at 6PM. I don't understand these people, they fought so hard to get time with her and they don't even take it. So, she was dropped off at 2:30PM, and they said it was because they wanted her to rest before school tomorrow. Riiiiiiight. J and K are in the other room right now playing video games and talking about her week, so we'll see how she did. She sees the counselor tomorrow too.

Mocha's b-day was Thursday and he is now 10 years old!!!!!! My little baby furball. I gave him a half of a can of cat food for a treat and a new toy. It was a little sad, cause Simba would have been turning 10 too. I think of him all the time, but the crying has stopped for the most part. When I'm not feeling well is when I miss him the most, because he used to curl right up next to me until I was better again.

10 weeks

Some of you ask me what is going on with "peanut" week by week, and I get e-mails weekly telling me what's going on, so I thought I'd post the info for you all! Here's what it says for 10 weeks!

Your baby's started growing tiny fingernails and toenails and can now kick and swallow — pretty impressive for someone the size of a walnut. Within the next few weeks, your featherweight baby will more than double in size, from just over an inch to nearly 3 inches. At your next prenatal appointment, you may be able to hear her heart beating with a stethoscope-like instrument called a Doppler.

My next appt. is the 28th, so hopefully we do get to hear the heartbeat! And I guess "peanut" is now a walnut! I felt pretty good this weekend, still gagging but I was able to get up and do things...we even went to the mall! My sis stopped by Saturday and gave us a baby spoon and two layette gowns, one is white with a yellow duckie and the other is yellow with giraffe's! My mom and I were shopping last week and she found a plush eeyore, perfect for baby and daddy!

My parents stopped by yesterday, they bought a digital camera because in June they are going with a bunch of family members to CA. They have reserved Harley's and are gonna tour around for a week! We stopped out at J's parents last night to see how everyone is doing, his sis is still in town, she leaves Tuesday. My grandpa is home, we haven't gone out to see him yet. My parents went out Friday night, dad says he doesn't remember things/people and is very ornery.

Oh yeah, an update on K. She wasn't picked up until 5:20PM Friday! No one called, or I could have made dinner for her before she left! We were told her stepdad would be out at 4PM. Well, her mom called at 5PM to say the stepdad was stuck in traffic because trees were down (even though we were told earlier that he was already in town!). So, K's mom asked to talk to her. K went off on her mom...this is what we heard she was yelling so loud! "You never keep your promises! You always do this to me! You left and went to Alaska, then Massachusetts, why don't you just move back to New York?! You say that the drive is hard on you, well it's hard on me too!!! Why are you sick? If the doctor told you to go to the emergency room why aren't you there??? Why are you waiting for him to call you back, he told you to go to the hospital! Mommy, I don't want to talk about this this weekend or at all this week. I don't want to talk about it at all unless Andrea (her counselor) is in the room!" Then her mom told her to get off the phone because her stepdad would be there soon. Can you believe it??? She was so upset, she asked us if she could stay home, she didn't want to go! We told her she had to go, but if she had a bad time this week she can talk to the counselor and we can change things. Poor thing. She is only 9, she shouldn't have to deal with this. Her mom told J she was throwing up, she told K she had a kidney infection. Ugh, this woman.

So, we told K we would call her Saturday to make sure she was ok. We called, but she was helping her mom make dinner, so she didn't really say too much and was more focused on what her mom was doing. We're gonna call again this week we told her, hopefully she has an ok time.

Here we go

Ok, so K is going with her mom for winter break starting today after she gets home from school, and comes home on the 26th. K's counselor has been trying to get her mom in for a session because K is ready to talk to her mom about everything that is bothering her. Now, this is quite a big step for a 9 year old girl to make after her mom left 2 1/2 years ago. So, K's mom agreed that they could all three meet after she picked K up today. WELLLLLL.....don't you know that K's mom calls this morning and says that she is too sick to come out and get K today, so her husband is going to. K hates her stepdad, she is scared of him. He yells all the time at her, and especially at her mom. She has actually hid under her bed when she visits them because he yells so much! They tell her that he doesn't yell, he just has a loud voice. Sound like abuse to you?????? Also, now she has cancelled the session with the counselor! What a great mom huh? She told J she's been up since 3am throwing up. Well, suck it up! I've been sick for a month and a half and I still drive K around and go to her school/girl scout functions!!!!! She is her mother for God's sake!!!! Obviously doesn't give a crap how this is gonna affect K. Oh, she's gonna be a mess when we tell her this today. I am so scared and sad for her. What more can this woman do to this child???!!!

J is stuck in D.C. right now, he went to Charlotte yesterday and is supposed to be driving home right now. There was a delay in D.C., they just delayed his flight again. Hopefully he will be leaving at 1pm, and home by 3:30PM.

The weather here is crazy today! I have branches down all over my backyard. It was raining and snowing at the same time! The wind is so strong it broke the awning over our back door!!!

My grandpa is coming home from the hospital today. They are sending him home with a hospital bed this time and oxygen. There's gonna be a hospice nurse there to help too. J and I are gonna go see him this weekend.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition

Does anyone watch this show? OMG, everytime I watch it I cry! I love it! It is so nice to see nice things being done for people that REALLY need it! This is the episode that was on last night http://abc.go.com/primetime/xtremehome/bios/316.html

It was about the Crawford Smith family. A woman who is raising her two sons on her own and was diagnosed with MS 5 years ago. She was a professional dancer and has a dance studio where she teaches kids. She was dancing and fell 5 years ago, she said she was very tired also. Then 8 months later she lost most of the use of her legs. She uses 2 canes to walk around and had stairs all thru her house. They decided to level her old house and made it all one level! It was an awesome show! We kept K up so she could watch it, and we reminded her that no matter how bad you have it there is always someone who has it much, much worse.

It was kinda scary to watch too, because I was diagnosed with MS a year ago on the 5th. I forget about it usually. I remind myself that every case is different, and mine was caught early. I really don't want to start any treatments, but after seeing that last night I am really thinking twice about it. I don't want to end up like that.

Stressed

Ugh.
That is how I feel all wrapped up into one word.

I wish I would stop feeling so sick, I feel like such a blob right now! I feel useless and fat. My pants are loose and fall down a lot, but if I pull them up they make my stomach hurt and then the gagging starts. I know I am going to have to go shopping soon for some new clothes, but I am not ready for that yet! I am only 9 weeks preggo, shouldn't I still have another few weeks left before I need to worry about wearing a tent?? I have been bloated since the third week though. This has not been a very pleasant experience yet. I just wanted to be happy and enjoying this! My hips are starting to hurt, so I can't get comfortable at night and am exhausted right now. I am also getting the ligament pain too, it's not bad just annoying. My legs are staring to twitch at night again too, I think I'm going to have to talk to the dr soon about that.

This weekend sucked. I was supposed to get together with my roomies from college but they couldn't make it because of the snowstorm that hit the east coast. I wanted to see them, but man I was feeling pretty sick still. I probably wouldn't have been much fun. We are going to try to get together in March now, before two of them have their babies in May! J has been in a bad mood for a while now, work is getting to him and his neck has been bothering him for a while now so he has terrible headaches. He finally made an appointment with a chiropractor and they did x-rays. He had his first adjustment today and wasn't too happy with it. I told him to give it a chance, things can't be fixed with one adjustment. They want to do an MRI now too, which I think is needed. I hate when he is like this, he shuts himself down and gets mad at everything. My grandpa is in the hospital again, he went in Saturday. He was complaining of pain under his ribs, so they did x-rays and didn't find anything. Then he started coughing up green stuff so they wanted to give him antibiotics before he came down with pneumonia. The dr came in after and said his vital signs are very low and wants to keep him in the hospital for a few days. We went to see him that night, when they took his blood pressure it was 89/55. That's pretty low. I took the ultrasound picture to show him, he smiled and said that he'd seen one of those before! He and my grandma had 5 kids. Then he told me my belly was sticking out! Sigh...
Yesterday we went to J's parents for an early Valentine's dinner. J's sister is coming to visit from CA on tuesday, and J doesn't want to see her, it's a sore subject. I will talk about it later. Ok, gotta calm down and stop this gagging.

Any pointers from any of the mamma's out there???? Or even the pappa's?????

I am pleased to introduce you to..........

the newest member of our family!!!!

Baby "Peanut" will be arriving on September 17, 2006!

I am now about 9 weeks preggo, and both of us are doing fine! Except that mommy is terribly sick and also very tired, but it will go away (or so they tell me!). We took a test on January 11th and found out for sure from the doctor on the 13th. First visit went great! It was hard to keep it a secret until then because I've been so sick. We told "K" first on February 1st and that night we had our parents come over and surprised them! We were all sitting at the diningroom table and I asked what everyone was doing around the middle of September. Well, everyone started thinking, they had no idea what was going on! So, I finally said "Well, I don't know about all of you but J and I will be in the hospital having a baby!" Tee hee! My mom grabbed me and her and dad were crying (it is their first grandchild). Then J's mom said "Ok, it's my turn let go of her!" Haha! So, everyone was surprised and happy. They couldn't believe we kept it a secret! Then we were talking about how sick I've been and my nephew Z, sitting on my lap, asks me "Why are you so sick?" and I told him "Because of the baby". He looks at me and says, "Well, you better keep that baby away from you!" HA!!!! Unfortunately, I couldn't have my sister over, so I gave her a call that night. I told her she was going to be an aunt and she started crying and saying "OMG!" over and over, she is sooo cute! I wish I could have told her face to face though. She called her hubby at work after that and told him, then he called me to congradulate me and J!

Well, I wasn't supposed to have this ultrasound yet, but I was having some issues so they just wanted to make sure everything was ok. His/her little heart was beating 158 beats per minute! It was so awesome to see!!! It's weird, because you know that you are pregnant, but to see the baby's heart beat is a totally different feeling. I am so in awe over this little one now, I can't believe it.
