32 Weeks, and counting

It's getting awfully snug in there! Your baby weighs almost 4 pounds and is almost 17 inches long. You're gaining a pound a week now, and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next seven weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. A side effect of your growing belly may be low back pain and possibly some pain in your buttocks and thighs. Be sure to tell your caregiver if the pain is severe or you feel numbness or tingling in your legs.

I am so ready for this baby to be here. This heat is killing me! I am so swollen and achey. I'm getting bored with the whole pregnancy thing, and I hate to say that but it's like "when am I gonna get to see this kid?"

Yesterday I got to run around and visit people. Went to my friend Kimmy's house and got to visit with her and her two boys. Then went to my parents house and my sister was there. She and I ran over to our friend Jaimie's house to see her because she is moving to Florida on Saturday with her boyfriend and daughter. My sister and I have been friends with her for over 20 years! Jaimie, her daughter, and Kimmy were in my wedding. I finally got to meet Jaimie's boyfriend Joey! He seemed very nice, but we didn't have a long visit. Today they are having a picnic so I'll get to see more of them tonight. When I was at my parents the baby started to move so I put my mom's hand on my belly right away and she finally got to feel the baby kick! I told my dad he better get over there fast, so he put his hand on too but could only feel her rolling around he said.

I forgot to mention, Sunday morning I woke up around 8AM because the baby was movin and a groovin, so I put J's hand on my belly. He woke up right away because she was kicking so much. He started to talk to her and everytime he did she would kick! This went on for a few minutes. You know she's already daddy's little girl!

Back from Miami!

Sorry, it's taken me so long to update but I've had tons to do since we got back! And today I decided to relax finally, cause I don't think my poor feet and legs can take much more.

Well, we left on Sunday the 16th. Flight was fine, J got us First Class so we were nice and comfy! Baby didn't seem to mind the flight too much, just when we were taking off or landing she would suddenly start bouncing around in there like she wanted out. They gave us a nice room this time, 5th floor, with 2 bedrooms and a view of the ocean. This is where we stayed http://www.newportbeachsideresort.com/ We were all pretty tired so we didn't do too much that night. J only had to work a couple of hours each day so he was able to do things with K and I. Went to the pool a lot, I actually went swimming and it felt pretty dang good! Until, I got out of the pool. Then it felt like someone had put 100 pound weights on me! I forgot that the water helps to make you feel weightless, so when I got out I could really feel this extra 20 pounds of baby on me. K made a couple of friends in the pool, Jasmine and Sabrina. It was nice to see her interacting with others. They had lots of activities everyday, poolside bingo, live music, water games for the kids, movie nights, arts and crafts, cookie decorating. It was fun! I didn't go into the ocean this time, it was a little too rough and I didn't want to risk falling over. J and K did though. We went to 3 different malls, and ate out at a few nice restaurants. We also got to have dinner with the Miami Dade police that were there for the conference, which K thought was the coolest! There was also an officer there from Germany and one from the Bahamas! It was very hot and humid while we were there, so I was pretty uncomfortable. My feet were so swollen that they were shiny and hurt to the touch! I have to admit, I broke down a few times crying because I'm not able to do things that I used to do anymore, like tying my shoes. It makes me so mad! 8 more weeks to go and counting.

So, we flew home on Saturday the 22nd and that was the trip from hell for me. I woke up not feeling too well, I was dizzy and just off. Had some animal crackers and iced tea before we got on the plane, got sick on the plane. But, made it to the bathroom! Then had to get on another plane and decided to try some pretzels. Got off the plane and got sick. Nice huh? Was sick when we got home too, so I had a miserable night. Next day still wasn't feeling too well but managed to keep some food down. There was a lot of turbulence this time, so the baby was NOT happy at all. I couldn't get her to calm down, so I think that's why I was so sick.

Sunday we took K to see her law guardian because we had to go back to court Monday. She has been talking about her half sister alot, so she told us she wanted to see her but not her mom. Well, we had to explain that you can't see the baby without seeing your mom. Poor kid. We told her to tell her law guardian anything she wanted to, that this is her lawyer and it doesn't matter what anyone wants, all that matters is what K wants. So, we went to court Monday and K isn't going to see her mom for the month of August like she should have, visitation is still suspended. She did tell her law guardian that she wants to see her sister, but wasn't sure about seeing her mom, just like she had told us before. She also said something that shocked us and hurt us alot, we had all we could do not to cry in court. She told her law guardian that she doesn't know who to trust, which she has said before but it was said after she came home that last time from being with her mom and stepdad and they told her that J wanted nothing to do with K and wanted her mom to have an abortion. SO, we don't understand where that came from. The law guardian wants to see her in 2 weeks, and we go back to court on the 23rd of August. Reason for that is because K's mom all of a sudden wants to be involved in the counseling, go figure! How long has the counselor and Kaylee been begging her to be involved? How many appointments did she cancel? So, now she wants to do it over the phone because she is in SC now. So, the judge wants us to come back so he can see if there is any change after teh counseling. Then we have a trial date for September 29th, which will decide on visitation, stipulations, and whether or not we get sole custody.

K is at Girl Scout camp all week this week too. It is a day camp, so she comes home at night, but Thursday they get to spend the night until Friday. Then we go out to pick her up and have a BBQ with them. She did this last year for a week too and had a lot of fun.

J left for Oklahoma City today, he will be back Friday morning. He said it is 100 degrees out there! UGH! This is the last business trip he will be taking until at least December, which I am happy about. It's not like he goes away all the time, but I am nervous about him not being here because I am 32 weeks preggo now and have been having dreams about my water breaking!

31 Weeks

Your baby weighs just over 3 pounds and is a bit more than 16 inches long. She's probably moving more than ever before, too, so you may even have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and rolls keep you up at night. If you're having this problem, comfort yourself with the knowledge that your baby is active and healthy. You may also start to feel your uterus contract every now and then as your body gears up for delivery day. These Braxton Hicks contractions aren't the real thing, but if you get more than four contractions in an hour, give your doctor or midwife a call to make sure it's not preterm labor.

I have been feeling contractions since about the 28th week, but nothing big. UNTIL.......we were in Miami. I think I just overdid it but I will talk to the doctor about it next week. Man, that was different. Like cramps but more intense. It just scared me a little because I started to worry that the baby wanted out and here we were so far from home.

30 Weeks

Your baby's a bit more than 15 1/2 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and fills out your uterus. Her eyes open and close, she's able to distinguish between light and dark, and she can even follow a light source back and forth. Once she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have a visual acuity of only 20/400 — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. ("Normal" vision in adults is 20/20.) You may be feeling a little tired, a little clumsy, and a little anxious — but hopefully you're wonderfully excited too! If you haven't already, start thinking about what kind of pain medication — if any — you want to have during labor. All labor drugs have pros and cons, and it can take time to sort through them all. Call your hospital or birth center to see whether you can pre-register. Getting some of the paperwork done now will be a big help come delivery time.

Pain medication....hmmm. Anything you can give me to make me happy! I've been reading about different types, but I'm going to wait until we start our classes at the end of the month to decide.

Had an appointment yesterday, wanted to cry the rest of the day but didn't. The baby is fine, so don't worry! I gained 5 pounds, which I don't even care about at this point. Have gained a total of 19 pounds now. My bloodwork came back fine for that 3 hour diabetis test....but...BUT... I will have to have it again next month. Joy of joys! I guess the reason is because it came back a little high the first time, it could be high again a month before the baby is due. Blah. And, I forgot that I had that abdominal sonogram. Well, I have a gallstone ladies and gentlemen. 4mm, she tells me that it is "tiny tiny". So, now I have to go on a very bland diet for the rest of the pregnancy. I wanted to say "it's not like I eat much now anyways!" No fried foods, no spicey foods, no seasoned foods. So, 6 weeks after the baby is born I have to decide if I want my gallbladder taken out or not. I don't even want to think about it, and I don't even want to talk about it anymore.

I went to lunch with my friend Tina today, took K with me. We had a nice visit, and I had a bland salad while they had greasy hamburgers. She came to my shower on Sunday and gave me a beautiful fleece blanket that she made and a Nemo outfit for the baby. Soooo cute!!! I took pics of everything so I will be adding those to my photo album soon, probably not until we get back from Florida though.

Went to court Tuesday. All I can say right now is K got the same law guardian assigned to her as she's had for the last 2 years. We go back to court on the 24th of this month. K has to get with her law guardian before then so they can talk and the law guardian can give her report to the court, telling the judge what K wants. The reason why we are going back so soon is because the issue of K going with her mom for the month of August is up in the air. Well, K still doesn't want to go, enough said. I will post more when I can.

My feet are swelling out of control lately, but I am told that it is ok. So, I had to go out and buy bigger shoes (flip flops) because they are so swollen. My hands are getting huge too, well for me they are. I can't get my wedding rings on half the time and it pisses me off.

Oh and as for how the baby is moving this week....a couple of nights ago the "cute" little kicks turned into "omg stop it!" kicks. I told everyone that it felt like she was trying to build an addition on in there, right under my ribs. Thanks hunny, mommy love you too!

29 Weeks

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to accommodate his brain — which is busy developing billions of neurons. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that your baby's nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester. To keep yourself and him well nourished, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamin C, folic acid, iron, and calcium. (About 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in your baby's skeleton — which is now hardening — every day.)

Hahaha! At the sonogram last Friday the tech told us the baby weighs about 3 1/2 pounds!!!! I am gonna have a big baby, thanks a lot MOM! She is very active still, this week I will liken it to popcorn. And ocean waves. My sister was over Thursday night and she got to feel the baby kick! Tomorrow is my baby shower, it is becoming more of a reality now. In 10 weeks we will have a little one to take care of!

Happy 4th!

Hope everyone is having a good 4th of July! We went to my aunt and uncle's house for a family picnic today and just got home a little while ago. It has been raining on and off all day so i think we are going to skip fireworks this year.

I went and had my bloodwork done yesterday, I was there for 4 HOURS!!! Ugh, what a terrible day. I got there, had my blood drawn, then they had to send it up to the lab to make sure that I had fasted long enough. Then I had to drink this aweful orange "drink" that was twice the dextrose as the first time. Have you ever had that orange drink that they give the kids from McDonalds? Imagine that but 100 times worse! I felt so sick after, but I told myself to relax because I didn't want to have to do the test again! So, I sat for another three hours and had my blood taken every hour. I have to say, the lady did an excellent job because I'm not bruised! It did hurt though, cause I had to have it twice in each arm and my left arm is still sore and bruised from last Wednesday.

I am getting bigger everyday, and my stomach has gotten very hard! The women in my family today were all saying that I looked good, or I looked so small, or I was carrying high. I got to tell everyone that we are having a girl, my shower is this Sunday! ;) I am having a hard time sleeping now, I can't get comfortable at all. Either my hips hurt, or my neck, or my back, or my stomach either aches from feeling sick or aches from muscle strain, and the leg cramps are terrible. I was up every hour last night, so exhausted today. I think I need a body pillow or something. Plus, the baby was very active last night so that didn't help either.

News on K and her mom....I can't really say too much still. I can tell you that we filed paperwork, as did K's counselor, and as of June 20th visitation was revoked. We have been trying to serve her mom with the papers from the court, but we can't find her. They went to her home in MA but someone else was living there!!! Then we got a certified letter from her mom on the 26th saying that she would be leaving on July 1st and moving to South Carolina! It also gave an address of where she would be living but stated that she wouldn't be living there until July 15th. That same night K talked to her mom and her mom started in on her right away, so J had to get on the phone again. This has happened a few times now, but we were advised by the counselor to do so. Well, that is when poor K found out that her mom was on her way to another state to live. K is so hurt, she has had enough. The whole conversation she said her mom called her a liar, and a manipulator, and that she is the little boy that cried wolf. How could a mother do that to her own child???? So, we have another plan on how to serve her but I can't say what it is right now. We have a court date set for next Tuesday the 11th. I doubt her mom will show.

DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!!!!

The news you have all been waiting for!!!!!!!

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And she is doing fine! Weighing in at a whopping 3 1/2 pounds, which worries me because she should be 3 pounds at the end of the 7th month, I still have 2 1/2 weeks to go. She also has a big belly, in which K said "well she definately belongs to this family!" And, of course, long legs. The technician said that the baby is measuring at 30 weeks, I am only 28 weeks! Plus, when I went to the doctors at 27 weeks, my belly measured 26 weeks.....go figure! I will post the sonogram pics soon.

28 Weeks

Your third trimester is starting, which means both you and your baby are in the homestretch! With his eyesight maturing, your baby can actually see light through the womb and will even turn toward a light now. You may start experiencing more uncomfortable symptoms, like restless legs that make it hard to sleep at night. Soon you'll see why it's all worth it, though!

By this week, your baby weighs a little over 2 pounds and measures about 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can open her eyes — which now sport lashes — and she'll turn her head toward a continuous, bright light from the outside. Her fat layers are beginning to form, too, as she gets ready for life outside the womb.

I told J and K that this past week the baby is learning to play the bongo's, week before that it was jazzercise. This kid is all over the place! Makes me laugh when I am laying down and I see my stomach doing the wave! K felt the baby kick for the first time on June 24th, she thought it was cool. She had such a shocked look on her face. She is still rubbing my belly and kissing it, more so now.

Got sick again Friday morning, it was bad this time. And of course it was the day I had to go for the two sonograms, so that was fun! Nothing to eat and had to drink water until I felt like I was gonna explode. I will tell you the results of the sonogram in my next post......hee hee!

Results of my bloodwork came back Friday too. I told everyone that I would be fine, because I've been so gosh darn sick and this whole experience hasn't been very memorable. WELL......when I do something, I gotta do it right! So my levels were "slightly elevated". Blood sugar level should have been between 70-140, I came in at 150. Go figure. So now I have to go for the friggin 3 hour test, joy of joys. It's the same test I just had, but now I have to sit at the hospital for over 3 hours and have my blood drawn 4 times. If you could only see how bruised my arm is now, I hope they just leave a stint in this time! BLAH!
